ABOUT US - COMPETITION LAUNCH

We are a group of third year Part 1 students at Birmingham School of Architecture who have devised a new way to showcase student work at the End of Year Show in June 2009, when we graduate. We have launched a concept competition open to current Part 1 students to design a Pavilion which will be multi-functional, providing a social area & additional exhibition space.

We have formed a committee consisting of fifteen students to oversee the project. The committee has been meeting regularly since the end of May to write the competition requirements, liaising with Birmingham School of Architecture staff from and making initial steps towards advertising and fundraising.

The winners of the competition will then work with the committee to finalise the design. It is hoped that there will be collaboration with Year 2 in the construction of the Pavilion and that the success of the project will allow it to become an annual event. We believe that this is a very exciting project and an excellent opportunity for undergraduate students to see their designs built early in their careers.
